Last night, the Outhouse reported that retailers were being informed of shortages in Age of Ultron #10, with some retailers receiving up to 13% less than their ordered amount.
We reached out to Diamond and learned from one of their representatives that a polybag shortage is responsible for the delay. The printer ran out of polybag material for the issue, which has resulted in a 13% shortage. Retailers affected by the shortage will receive copies the following week.
However, this isn't a nationwide shortage. Diamond stated that the shortage will affect only shipments from Plattsburgh, New York, which means that only some retailers in the Midwest and the East Coast will be shorted.
So, polybags are to blame for the Age of Ultron shortage. I'll leave it to you to determine whether there's any lessons to be learned from this. Stay tuned to see whether there will be enough 3D material available to ensure that all of DC's Villain's Month comics are printed on time!
