The central character to be affected in DC's upcoming Forever Evil/Villain's Month will be Nightwing. (Updated)
Dan Didio: They might make it through September, but I can’t guarantee they’ll make it through the entire series. That includes what might be one of the most talked about events for DC Comics this year. One of our major recognizable characters will be affected in a very dramatic way.
Jim Lee: If you’re going to do an event that impacts the entire universe, there have to be consequences or repercussions, and this one is going to be meaningful. It all comes out of the great story starting in September.
Bleeding Cool is reporting that Aaron Haaland, after attending the DC Retailer Roadshow, confirmed that Nightwing will be the "major recognizable character affected in a very dramatic way." Then reminding us that Didio had wanted to kill off Nightwing in Infinite Crisis.
So what do you think? Will they kill Nightwing off or have him suffer some horrific injury forcing him to the sidelines (creating a new Oracle)? If removed, will another Robin rise to take his place? Will Nightwing himself become a Villain? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Bleeding Cool returned today to speak about the rumor, saying: No, Nightwing will not die, but given what's to happen to him, death may be preferable. I guess we'll have to wait and see for the official "affect" Nightwing is to experience, but at least this let's us narrow down the speculation.
