Stallone to Charge 0 for Autograph, 0 for Photo at NYCC

Want to meet the star of Cliffhanger, Oscar, and Stop or My Mom Will Shoot? Better bring your wallet!

Fans of Sylvester Stallone were excited to learn that the movie star will be at New York Comic Con this year, but they may be less pleased to learn that taking a photograph with Rocky will cost about as much as the most expensive tickets to the convention itself (a 4 day all access VIP pass). It seems that Stallone, who will be at the convention on Sunday and plans to deliver 300 autographs and 150 photo ops on behalf of Celebrity Authentics, will be charging $395 and $445 for the opportunities, respectively. Here's the info, courtesy of When Nerds Attack:

Thank you for your interest in Celebrity Authentics and the talent we are bringing to the NYCC! Stallone with be at the show on Sunday only and doing autographs and photo ops that day. Autograph tickets are $395.00 and photo op tickets are $450.00. Tickets are limited to approximately 300 autographs and 150 photo ops. Chloe Mortez’s autograph tickets will cost $75.00 and photo ops will cost $95.00 each. We are unsure at this point if she will be there Saturday or Sunday. That will be confirmed soon and tickets will go on sale September 5th at 11:00am EST at www.celebrityauthenticstickets.com. Let us know if you have any other questions we can assist you with and we hope to see you in New York!”

The news came to us via The Opie and Anthony Show on Friday, where co-host, comedian, and Spider-Man star Jim Norton was enraged by Stallone's greed and spoke about it on air.

Jim Norton steals the scene in Spider-Man.

"I'm absolutely disgusted," complained an irate lil' Jimmy. "It's fucking sickening. He's doing comic con and apparently he's charging fans $445 for a photo and $395 for an autograph. $445 fucking dollars to take a picture! I get the autograph more because people can sell that and make money off it. But nobody is buying a picture of me and Stallone."

Stallone tweets at Bruce Willis.

"That is just gouging your fans," the chinless Norton continued. "By the way, he's calling Bruce Willis greedy on Twitter for wanting an extra million dollars for an extra day's work. It would have been four days for four million. He was getting three million. He wanted four million. That's 'greedy.' But I get that a lot more than charging a fan almost $500 for a fucking photo. Your fans are average working people. Who does he think, the Queen of England goes to see his fucking movies? Prince Harry? And those are the people he wouldn't charge."

The Boys discuss Stallone's new movie, Grudge Match.

"I've never charged for a fucking photo," Norton wrapped up with a self-deprecating joke, "And people wouldn't pay.'

Norton blasts Stallone on Twitter.

Look we have no beef when, say, Virgil: Wrestling Superstar charges money for an autograph at a con. Virgil gotta eat, after all. And a guy like that doesn't have a lot of other sources of income. Stallone is a Hollywood millionaire, and he's still making movies. He doesn't need $450 a piece from his fans, and he has no business charging such high prices for an event that isn't for charity.  If Stallone hits his targets, he stands to bring in $186,000 for himself and Celebrity Authentics, for a few hours of work, making this venture more lucrative on a per hour basis than his movie career.

Poor Virgil.

So, anyone planning on ponying up four sawbucks for a Stallone autograph? Agree with Norton's assessment? Disagree? Let us know what you think.
