Ranting With RU: Why Haven't Cable & Corsair Met Yet?

Have they?

Source: Inspired by "Texts From Superheroes"

Welcome to the second edition of a almost forgotten feature here at the Outhouse; Ranting With RU. As the title suggests, this feature will consist of barely coherent and skimpily researched searched opinions by your good buddy, RU. Today's Rant: Cable and Corsair; How Have They Not Met Yet?

---

So, I just saw this Texts From Superheroes meme (or whatever they are called):

Like most of the Texts From Superheroes I found it funny.

But, it also made me think – not the solve world hunger or discover a new religion kind of thinking, but thinking none the less – "Have Cable and Corsair ever actually met?"

I asked my fellow Outhouse writers, nothing came to anyone's mind. Tim even Googled the question and found this article which researched this topic and decided that, no, after 30 years, Cable has never met his bass-ass space pirate of a grandfather.

Yea, I know that both characters spent some time dead and or in a different time zone (get it?) but you'd think someone would have written that story.

They had a whole fucking series (it was really good) about teenage-Scott going off with the SPACE PIRATE father he never knew, but poor old Nathan Dayspring gets no love?

Think about all that has happened in the 30 years since Cable was created - or even the 22 years since we found out Cable was Cyclops' son – and in all that time there was never a life event where Scott Summers thought to himself "It be really nice to have Dad here as Cable and I celebrate Hope's birthday."

This is fucking bullshit!

It's not like The Starjammers could have ever used the help of a military genius from the future. Or when Uncle Havok went off with the Starjammers to fight Uncle Vulcan maybe, just maybe, Cable could have been useful.

In an effort to calm me, Outhouse Senior Asian Correspondent sdsichero did some internet tube searching and discovered that Cable and Corsair were both in Uncanny X-Men #387, but separated by a few galaxies.

Seriously! Never?

I'm probably wrong, I usually am.

About the Author - GHERU

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time.  RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage.  Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write.  RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them.  RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor.  You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
