13 Slays of Halloween: Magic (1978)

The really scary thing in this movie isn't Anthony Hopkins. He's #2 on the scary scale compared to #1 in this cult film.

I still can't believe how tonight's entry, Magic (1978) escaped my notice for so long. How does one not see a film that stars Anthony Hopkins and Ed Lauter?! Somehow I am guilty of this sin. I am ashamed. *hands in his cult fan badge*

But now I do see the signs of its impact. You see it in a Goosebumps tale. An episode of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Heck, I wanna check now when the Ventriloquist/Scarface showed up in Batman comics now. I do feel ashamed that I've never even heard of this film until now.

Here's the trailer:

My review:

Alright, no more sudden turns. I'm going straight through with what I promised. Tomorrow's entry is another 1988 horror treat but this one is directed by Robert Englund! For I'm gonna dial up some evil. 976-EVIL (1988) tomorrow!
