Nightfly's iTV Week in Review  (week of 2/19/12)
...transferring data now...

In my inaugural column I mentioned Assisted Living and blip as two invaluable research sources I rely on to learn about new web series uploaded each week. Super Knocked Up's writer-director, Jeff Burns, suggested I also peruse the weekly offerings of webseries hub KoldCast, so, I now pass along his recommendation to you.

Starting this week PBS and YouTube will be bringing the art house to your house with PBS' Online Film Festival, debuting twenty original short films today (2/27) thru March 30th. With luck, I'll be reposting those shorts here in upcoming weeks. GetGlue is offering a handsome sticker for watching its trailer here.

Since Anatomy of a TV Hit: C.S.I.'s third webisode they've been focusing exclusively on the episode titled, "Stealing Home." Watch it free online here. In the latest entry, their fifth webisode, they concentrate on "The Story for "Stealing Home." Look for the next installment tomorrow (2/28).

Make-up Section: featuring multiple entries this column.

In my inaugural column I featured Kirby Ferguson's fantastic four-part web series titled, Everything is a Remix. I embedded the first and last episodes, though, my favorite part was its second. Part 2 focused on cinema, most particularly George Lucas' first Star Wars film. It ends on the subject of Lucas' filmic remix successor, Quentin Tarantino (specifically addressing Kill Bill). The second epi directs viewers to check out a clip completely focused on Kill Bill and in the final episode Kirby references a dedicated featurette about The Matrix. In case you haven't seen 'em previously, here're the bonus featurettes mentioned as well as the series' second episode (below).

On a closing note, a web series I've repeatedly been pointed towards but've still yet to catch posted some episodes with new commentary tracks earlier this month. The series is Syfy's The Mercury Men, and fans should definitely check out their recent uploads here.

Thanks for checking out my second iTV column. I encourage you to check out my TV and Music Video Week in Review columns too. Stay Jacked-In and Happy iViewing!
