Chasing The Matrix:
Nightfly's Music Video Week in Review  (week of 3/4/12)

So,... VEVO. Yikes, I can't say I'm a fan of the new makeover. Not being a Facebook user meant I lost my playlists right off the bat. I'd like to promise New VEVO won't hamper my column in any way but, frankly, I'm not sure it won't - another main problem is that they no longer list the dates new videos were added. Basically, at least as far as I'm concerned, New VEVO sucks but that's just my opinion,... who knows maybe you'll love the new changes. For the most part I just think it'll mean less of their videos featured each week, so, there it is.

This week's number one out-of-competition video is a mashup I mentioned coming in my previous WiR column. Shake It Up leads Zendaya Coleman and Bella Thorne each sing new songs on the show's latest dance soundtrack and last week a mashup video combining the two songs came out (embedded below) along with a short BTS clip. Both songs will release separate, individual videos soon. Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance hits shelves March 20th and is available for pre-order now!

I couldn't really decide where I wanted Bjork's latest highly creative video, "Hollow," to go so I opted to feature it here.

In my last column I embedded an interview webseries featuring St. Vincent's Annie Clark in Studio Q with Jian Ghomeshi. Last week David Harrington & Wu Man of Kronos Quartet were Jian's in-studio guests. Watch their full [18.50] webisode here.

Thanks so much for joining the chase and I invite you to also check out my TV and iTV columns as well. Have a Great Week & Keep Your Groove On!
