Last batch of the day..
"Usagi Miyamoto's son. Jotaro himself is much like his father full of courage but lacking the wisdom that comes with age. Great kid and any father would love to have him as a son. The relationship between Jotaro and his father is one of the most touching and flat out sad father son dynamics in comics. Each loves each very much but they can't let the other one know the sad truth. Fate and honor conspire to keep them apart and that breaks my heart."
Jotaro is the son of Kenichi and Mariko, but his biological father is Usagi; before leaving to serve Lord Mifune, Usagi had a tryst with his childhood love, Mariko, who later discovered she was pregnant. Kenichi, who was also in love with Mariko, convinced her to marry him, so that she would not be dishonored by having a child out of wedlock. Kenichi treated Jotaro as his own child, but it is one of the many sticking points between Kenichi and Usagi. For his part, Usagi had no idea about having fathered a child, and Mariko refused to tell him so as to not make him feel obliged to resign his post and return to her. In Circles, just as Usagi is leaving the village, Mariko tells him the truth about Jotaro, and instructs him not to reveal it to the boy, for fear that it would alienate Jotaro from Kenichi. However, before Usagi departs the region, he has one last farewell with his son in which he recommends the kitten seek out his old sensei, Katsuichi as his teacher. For his part, Jotaro promises to do that in order to emulate the best samurai he knows, Usagi.
Later, when Jotaro was old enough to study swordsmanship, he took Usagi's suggestion and came under instruction of Katsuichi-sensei. He in turn deduced Jotaro's parentage and felt the child was much like his father.
During the third volume of the comic, Jotaro travels with Usagi for a while before Katsuichi is scheduled to meet another swordsmaster named Nakamura Koji for a duel. Before the duel, the four (along with Katsuichi's other student, Shunji) meet in a village besieged by bandits, they form a plan to defeat the bandits and save the town; during which Koji is impressed with Jotaro's skill. When Koji is killed by Katsuichi during their duel, he leaves Jotaro his daisho for him to wield when he comes of age, and the young boy vows that he will grow up to be a great samurai like him; a noble goal according to Katsuichi.
When Jotaro rejoins Katsuichi for more training, Usagi leaves them again. In one of the most touching moments in the series, Jotaro reveals immediately after Usagi's departure that his mother told him the truth about his parentage (but for some reason, she did not tell him that his biological father knows as well). He runs out towards Usagi proclaiming that he is his father; a message that Usagi is too far away to hear.
So far, only a handful of people know the truth about Jotaro and Usagi. Katsuichi knows, likely deducing it from their similar styles, though Jotaro reveals it in front of him in volume 3, issue 75. Usagi has confided their relationship in Tomoe Ame, a possible sign that he thinks of her as more than just a friend. Sasuké's mind reading abilities have revealed the truth to him; and Jei likely suspects the relationship, and fathering a child out of wedlock could be one of the sins—if not the sin—that Jei has condemned Usagi for.
Cammi was a ten year old elementary school student. She was raised in Coot's Bluff, Alaska. She lived with her mother Mavis, who had a problem with alcohol. Her father has been missing for quite sometime. Recently the Omega Core Prison Transport Vessel designated Dredge 01 departed from planet Earth en route for Kyln prison planetoid. Located at the edge on the universe in the Crunch Cascade. The galactic level gangsters known as the Blood Brothers were transferred into the Omega Core's custody by Earth authorities. But before the Dredge 01 left the planet's orbit, a singularity drive failure caused it to crash on Earth outside of Coot's Bluff, Alaska, United States of America.
Ten-year-old Cammi and her friend Dex, students at the nearby Coot’s Elementary School, happened upon the five survivors of the crash: Drax the Destroyer, Paibok the Power Skrull, the Blood Brothers, and Lunatik. Tricking the dim-witted Drax into thinking that she was his long lost daughter Heather Douglas (Moondragon), after doing so Cammi goaded him into a fight with the Blood Brothers.
While waiting for a way to escape Earth, Paibok had grown tired of the feud between Drax and the Blood Brothers. Paibok transformed himself into the likeness of Thanos of Titan, and then impaled Drax through the head causing his death. A strange occurrence soon followed Drax’s death. Cammi claimed ownership of Drax’s dead corpse. The corpse began to smoke and melded into the ground beneath it.
Later a new version of the Drax entity bursts through the harden earth. Cammi believed that she was the owner of the current Drax. So she followed him, as he began his mission of revenge on Paibok and his allies for killing him. Drax killed Lunatik and one of the Blood Brothers. Paibok activated a folded space distress beacon to turn himself into the Omega Core’s custody. Later, Paibok, Drax, Cammi, and the surviving Blood Brother had been taken into custody on the Omega Core Stockade Barge designated Dredge 02.
Cammi and Drax remained aboard Dredge 02 until it docked at the Xandar Cluster, Tranta System, Andromeda Galaxy, on its way to the Kyln. At Xandar the Omega Core Prison transport warden was forced to release Cammi and Drax, because this new Drax’s genetic matrix readings did not match the original readings recorded by the Omega Core. Drax had allegedly slaughtered 200,000 Skrull settlers, despite the fact that Omega core was fairly certain that the two Draxes are one in the same. They had decided to release the two prisoners. While Cammi and Drax were awaiting their pending release, the Annihilation Wave attacked the Xandar Cluster, thus destroying the prison.
Now stranded Cammi and Drax began searching for transport off the planet, in the process they ran into Nova from Earth. They were the only known survivors of the attack on the Xandar Cluster. They found a Nova Corps Combat Cruiser, which was powered by the Nova Force that is stored inside of Richard Rider. They traveled 9 light years to the planet of Nycos, where they were met by the Protector of the Universe Quasar of Earth. They were attacked by Annihilus’ Command section of the Annihilation Wave. Nova infected the Annihilation Waves' command structure by using a virus developed by the Xandar's World Mind. Cammi appeared piloting a Nova Corps Combat Cruiser to rescue the heroes. The infected vessels began to self-destruct granting them safe passage out of the Xandar Cluster.
Cammi, Drax and Nova with the World Mind incorporated into his person traveled 9 light years into Kree space. They arrived on Daedalus 5, in the Greater Magellanic Cloud where Nova assumed leadership of the intergalactic resistance movement known as the United Front. Star-Lord served as Nova's chief aide and strategist. Bolstered mainly by the local Kree Forces, the resistance also included the Skrull Talos, Ronan, Gamora and her Graces. There greatest assets were the heralds Firelord, Red Shift and Stardust. There mission was to prevent the Annihilation Wave from advancing any further into the positive matter universe.
While on Daedalus 5, Drax was approached by Phyla-Vell the daughter of the Kree hero Captain Marvel. She is the lover of his daughter Moondragon. Phyla informed Drax that Moondragon had been abducted by his sworn enemy Thanos. She gave Drax a package containing her severed ear, which confirmed the story of Moondragon's capture. Cammi asks if she can keep the ear. After a brutal battle with the Centurions from the Negative Zone, Drax leaves Cammi behind with the United Front as he goes to rescue Moondragon. After single handedly killing Thanos, Drax returned with Moondragon, but there has been no report of Cammi's whereabouts, no one has seen her since these events.
Oh, read Realm of Kings!!
"I hate what Johns did to her."
As a child, Imra Ardeen displayed top-level telepathic abilities and was taken from her family to begin years of intense mental training with the best minds of Titan. She honed her abilities to scan and read sentient minds, communicate non-verbally with one or many, and gain limited control of another's mind and/or actions.
Imra gave up a promising career as Science Police officer to join the Legion. As Saturn Girl, her powers were tested to the extreme in confrontations with the warped minds of the Composite Man and Dr. Psycho.
Psychic inhibitors created by Imra's mentor Aven were removed from her subconscious. He had secretly installed them to help Imra adjust to her increasing telepathic powers. She feels they are no longer needed, if indeed they ever were.
Years of solitary training made it hard for Imra to relate with others, but time with the Legion has helped her open up and make friends. While en route from Titan (a moon of Saturn) to Earth to join the Science Police, Imra telepathically detected a plot to assassinate inventor R.J. Brande. Working with Rokk Krinn of Braal (Cosmic Boy) and Garth Ranzz of Winath (Lightning Lad), the youngsters foiled the plot. Impressed with the trio of young heroes, Brande formed the Legion Of Super-Heroes.
Imra, newly dubbed Saturn Girl, discovered that she had not yet developed the mental shielding necessary to filter out the minds of those around her. During one mission, she shut down the mind of Composite Man, loosing her sanity in the process. The love of Garth Ranzz helped heal her mind and soon after she accepted his proposal of marriage.
Both Imra and Garth were among the Legionnaires stranded in another galaxy. She used her abilities to keep her team mates calm by creating a psychic projection of Apparition. When the deception was discovered, she lost the trust of her teammates and resigned as leader.
In the current series, Titanians now only communicate telepathically, having lost their vocal cords to evolution. Thus, Imra now only communicates by broadcasting her thoughts with the illusion of sound. However, only Lightning Lad seems to be aware of the fact that she's not really speaking. In any situation where telepathy is useless, Imra is rendered mute. Her mother is on the council of the United Planets. When the Legion was dealing with a ghost like Mon-El, Imra was able to hear his cries for help via telepathy, making her instrumental in the locating him.
After her encounter with Mon-El, Saturn Girl attempted to start a relationship with Lightning Lad, whom she has flirted with since the beginning of the series. Since then they have begun a rocky relationship, greatly strained, ever since Garth became the leader of the Legion (after the disappearance of Cosmic Boy). As of late, Imra has been shown to be taking a more leading role in the Legion ranks, even leading two separate missions.
On her first mission, Imra assembled her team, consisting of: Star Boy, Timber Wolf, and Invisible Kid. They were sent to the moon of Triton to help evacuate the populace from an extraterrestrial invasion. Unfortunately the invasion began earlier than they expected, and they were forced to deal with the invaders. Saturn Girl proved to be a good addition to the team, dealing with multiple aliens. Unfortunately the aliens began to adapt to their variety of powers. But to no surprise they were able to defeat their opponents, suffering only minor injuries.
On her second mission, Saturn Girl led a team consisting of Atom Girl, Ultra Boy, Chameleon, Colossal Boy, and Star Boy to Rimbor to fight more invading aliens, first seen in her previous mission and now known to be called the Destroyers. While on the planet, the Legion was attacked by the Science Police, looking to capture legionnaire Ultra Boy. Luckily for Ultra Boy, the team was not willing to give up a member of their ranks. In the process of protecting him, they became fugitives. Knowing that they couldn't hold off their attackers forever, the Legionnaires retreated, attempting to make it back to the teleportation pad.
