97. Spider-girl (28 points - 1 first place slot)

spidergirl.jpg"Brought back the fun to the Spider-universe."

May "Mayday" Parker is the child of Peter and Mary Jane Parker in a alternate future In the MC2 continuity. When she was little she was kidnapped from her parents. They were reunited with their baby daughter by Kaine, who found the child living with Alison Mongraine, the con artist who had kidnapped the baby on instruction from the Green Goblin. After they were reunited, Peter lost a leg during the horrific final conflict with the Green Goblin. After the battle Peter was offered a bionic replacement from Mr. Fantastic and, considering it a wake-up call, decided to retire and focus on being a husband and father (the battle is glimpsed in Spider Girl #7, and fully explained in Spider Girl #49). For years, they chose to keep their past from Mayday and hoped that she wouldn't develop powers of her own.

Despite her parents' hopes, May began developing versions of her father's Spider-powers when she was 15. At the same time, Normie Osborn (Green Goblin's grandson) set out to restore the family name (as he saw it). Mayday donned Ben Reilly's Spider-Man costume to stop him and soon took to crime fighting, at first hindered, then helped, by her worried parents.

May accidentally gets transported back in time when she attempted to stop Spyral from changing dimensions. But her additional weight caused him to time travel instead. She ended up in Midtown High, when her father himself was a student there and sees him getting bullied by Flash Thompson. She gets chased by Human Torch (who became leader of the Fantastic Five in MC2) on to the rooftops where she loses him. Spider-man finds her though and, thinking she's an impostor, attempts to apprehend her. She eventually uses her own super agility and web slingers to lose him, which confuses Peter. She tracks down Spyral who claims the only way to get back to their own time is for both of them to enter the time portal together. She agrees, but Spider-man and Human Torch find them just as they're about to go in. Johnny tries to apprehend the both of them, but Peter calls him off, trusting May. Before entering the portal, May accidentally refers to Peter as 'Dad'.

Spider-Girl was faced with other specters from her father's past, including the near-invincible Black Tarantula. The Tarantula arrived from and selected May Parker to be the perfect young woman to carry his bloodline. Creating "Team Spider" to supposedly help May in her war on evil, he tried a twisted mind-game to win May's heart, while seeking to strengthen his grip on 's criminal infrastructure. She also fought the Savage Six, and also fought Aftershock (Electro's daughter).

n a battle with the super-villain named Killerwatt, who controlled electricity, severely shocked Spider-Girl causing her to lose her spider abilities. The aftermath she still resumed to be Spider-Girl, she just used the Green Goblin glider and the Green Goblin bombs to fight criminals, until she got in a battle with "The New Spider-Man" (Spider-woman's son), she fell into a generator, which she was severely shocked again. She gained her powers back along with some new powers over magnetism.

After an attempt at helping the S.H.I.E.L.D government agency, a case filled with a piece of the Carnage symbiote was released. It attaches itself to May's friend Moose Mansfield, who becomes the new Carnage. In exchange, Carnage will bond itself to Moose's terminally ill father, curing him in the process. Carnage causes a stir at May's school and kidnaps her dad and Baby Ben, forcing May to confront her friend. May tries to talk to Moose within the

symbiote but fails, and it bonds with her brother Ben. Peter escapes as May battles the two symbiotes and gathers sonic gear that may be able to defeat the symbiote. She gives it to her father, but is unable to harm his son. However May uses the weapon, thereby destroying the piece of the Carnage symbiote. Her success is not without a measure of collateral damage as well, however; not only is Moose furious at Spider Girl for dooming his father, but the sonic weapon renders Ben deaf, possibly forever.

en's hearing is eventually restored thanks to the intervention of Normie Osborn. Normie later stumbles on one of Norman Osborn's former labs, and discovers a fluid tank containing what appears to be a physical duplicate of Mayday Parker. Notes left behind by his grandfather indicate that this Mayday is the original he kidnapped years ago, hinting that the Mayday who has lived a full life is yet another clone. Mayday continues to date Gene, but her jealously over Gene's relationship with Symone enrages and confuses her, she has found some mild release from her problems due to her close friendship with Wes Collins, which in turn has incensed Gene. During an encounter between the three in a bar, Gene almost knocks out Wes with a firm fist, but the punch is blocked by a concerned Mayday. Gene's punch being obstructed by Mayday humiliates him in front of his entire football team. Mayday eventually starts to feel the weight of her relationship, and chews out Wes for intervening on her behalf. Wes, however, remains deeply concerned about Mayday and discovers a plot by Symone to blackmail Gene and discredit her in front of the entire High School. Meanwhile, Fury The Goblin Queen activates a signal that awakens the Mayday Clone inhabiting the tank within Osborn's labs, and she escapes, confronting Mayday on the roof of her high school just as she is changing into Spider-Girl. The New May was revealed to be a human/symbiote hybrid with all the abilities of Mayday and the powers of a symbiote. The symbiote was not a sentient so the girl did not had to deal with a second consciousness in her mind. This new hybrid was all a part of Osborn's master plan to be reborn into an immortal Goblin Creature. He used the hybrid to fuse his mind with the bodies of May Parker, Peter Parker, and his symbiote hybrid creation. After the ensuing battle in their collective consciousness, the Parkers' proved victorious and the hybrid decided to join their family. She then named herself "April" as a play-on-words with her "sister" May. She then enrolls in the same school as May calling themselves "cousins." It has yet to be determined which girl is the clone and which is the original - April or May. Although Mayday has more experience then April who jumps into battles without thinking.

96. Noh-Varr (29 points)

nohvarr.jpgI so fucking hate his new costume.

After the fallout of the Secret Invasion, Norman Osborn is put in charge of forming a new team of Avengers as well as a new S.H.I.E.L.D. To replace S.H.I.E.L.D., Norman comes up with the government program, H.A.M.M.E.R. As he hand picks the new team of Avengers, he seeks out counterparts for former Avenger members. Finding Noh-Varr at the Cube once more, Norman asks him to join under the name Captain Marvel, which Noh agrees to.

Shortly after the announcement of Noh-Varr taking the name Captain Marvel, he caught the attention of a religious group. The Church of Hala, a religion that worships the original Captain Marvel as a savior, committed a religious suicide due to Noh-Varr. Ms. Marvel heard the report on the news and decided to investigate the suicides. While searching for evidence that leads to Noh-Varr, she runs into him and blames him for the deaths. Noh-Varr tells her out of respect for Mar-Vell he doesn't attack her. She lashes out by slapping him, which he then grabs her by the throat. Threatening her that he could call Norman Osborn, he decides to let her go and continues to tell her that the Mar-Vell who returned was a Skrull. She tries to hit him once more, but this time he catches her hand and pulls her arm behind her back. Forcing her to listen, he tells her about the Skrull Captain Marvel who asked him to protect the Earth, and who died after taking out the Skrull Warship. As Noh-Varr is leaving he tells her that next time he will no longer stay his hand.

After getting a report of H.A.M.M.E.R. agents under attack at Castle Doom, the Dark Avengers go out on their first mission. Upon arriving at Castle Doom, they find Dr. Doom beaten by Morgan Le Fay. Norman Osborn orders Sentry not to hold back, and Sentry quickly flies in and rips Le Fay's head off. But after thinking the battle was over, Sentry starts screaming and after a burst of bright lights was gone. Morgan Le Fay appeared before them once more and told them she was a Time Traveler and would just keep coming back. She then cast a spell which cause Venom to attack Ares, while she summons demons to attack the rest of the Dark Avengers. Morgan Le Fay was defeated though by Dr. Doom and Iron Patriot, who traveled back to the past and confronted Morgan Le Fay in her own time. In the aftermath of the battle, the Avengers started heading back to Avengers Tower. While riding on the Quinjet, Karla commented on how she was impressed by Noh-Varr in the battle. She also told him that she is Kree-Related as well, due to her Moonstones. As she walked away, Ares was staring Noh-Varr down, which when Noh-Varr noticed he faced front. As the Quinjet was about to arrive at the tower, Sentry appeared in front of them in a blinding flash of light.

After Sentry is convince to try and relax and go back into the tower, the rest of the Avengers do as well. Victoria Hand tells them all that they need to take their required medicine, only Bullseye and Venom seem to be the ones that need to take it though. Later that night, Noh-Varr was walking back to his room after a shower when Karla invites him into her room. After spending the night together, Karla told him that she wants to see how Norman explains that his "Avengers" are full of criminals. Noh-Varr seemed to be in shock at the news that the rest of his teammates are all criminals pretending to be heroes. But before anything else could be said, there is an attack in Los Angeles, California and the Avengers are summoned by Norman Osborn to deal with it.

After revelation about his teammates true colors, Noh-Varr took off from the Avengers Tower. When Norman asked about his whereabouts , none of the other Avengers knew where he was. Norman demanded to know what Karla had told him, but she said she didn't tell him anything after leaving the Avengers, Noh-Varr looked for Wolverine, which he found out a Japanese restaurant. Noh-Varr told Wolverine about Norman's plan to take over the Weapon X facility. The two of them arrived on the facility, but as they arrived Wolverine was put under the control of a hive mind, and attacked Noh-Varr long with an army of mutant zombies which were sent by H.A.M.M.E.R. Escaping into a tunnel, Noh-Varr ran into Fantomex who was also trying to put a stop to the mutant army. Fantomex informed Noh-Varr that the mind-controlling is coming from Weapon XVI, a sentinel mind, called Allgod. While Fantomex distracted the zombies and Wolverine, Noh-Varr searched out the Allgod, where he had to kiss it to get it to realize that they were no longer a threat. Weapon XVI released his control over Noh-Varr and the zombies, and the three heroes teamed up to take them out. The three then went their separate ways, after stopping Norman's plot.

While still on the run from Norman Osborn, Noh-Varr created a device to contract the Supreme Intelligence of the Kree Empire, so he can ask what his purpose is on Earth. This device brought attention from several groups, including the Fantastic Four and H.A.M.M.E.R. Because of this Noh-Varr had to keep on the move, so he wouldn't be caught in his activities. Noh-Varr runs into a girl named Annie who had just broken up with her boyfriend. But while they were talking, Noh-Varr is attacked by the Sentry. Noh escapes from the Sentry, when Annie picks up one of Noh's weapons and shoots Sentry with it. Noh then heads back to his hide out where he receives an answer from the Supreme Intelligence. He tells Noh that he will be the protector of Earth, much like Mar-Vell was. He also gives Noh-Varr a set of new Nega-Bands, that were created just for him. They are much different than the original Nega-Bands, and granted Noh-Varr a new costume. Noh goes and sees Annie again, and tells her that he is here to protect Earth, and that at the right time he will stop Norman Osborn. As he teleports away he is being watch by Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.

95. Morbius (29 points)

morbius.jpgMichael Morbius was a Nobel Prize winning biochemist. He was also engaged to Martine Bancroft. However he was suffering from a rare blood disease. He took part in experimental test to cure his disease and even though he tried his best the disease just worsened.

The procedure involved using vampire bats and electro shock therapy; however it only mixed with his rare problem and turned him into a makeshift vampire. Morbius's appearance turned into a vampire like being, his skin turned white, and his teeth grew into fangs and he became a "vampire"

The first time he changed, he killed his partner Nico by accident. Then he fled from the boat he was doing the experiment on. He left Martine as well. Later he was picked up by a ship. Soon he would feed on the blood of the crew members. After nearly being outnumbered by the remaining crew, Morbius fought them and escaped the ship. He would soon take refuge in an abandoned beach house in Long Island, NY.

When Spider-Man had four extra arms growing out of his sides, Peter Parker borrowed Curt Conner (the Lizard)'s beach house has a lab to find a cure for himself. Little did he know that Morbius was in the same house. The tow would end up fighting in the house. Soon the Lizard would get involved in the fight. During the final part of their first encounter, Spider-Man threw Moribus into a bridge and Morbius was knocked out and fell into the river. Morbius would fight Spider-Man in a few other issues.

At One point he encountered the Thing while attacking Elisha. After the battle with Thing, he tries to attack the alien Living Eraser. He and Thing are then transported to a cell in Dimension Z but escape and return back to Earth to defeat Living Eraser. Morbius then uses the Living Eraser's technology to transport away from Earth so that he can not harm anyone.

He would then come back to Earth for a short period of time and fight Spider-Man and Human Torch. Also during this time he turned a student named Jefferson Bolt into a living Vampire just like him. However during a battle with Spider-Man and Torch, he attacked Jefferson's brother and later killed Jefferson. After that he used Living Eraser's technology to leave Earth for good.

For a while Morbius got control of a set of wristbands that transported him to another dimension so that he couldn't feed on the blood of others. But he ran into the being known as The Empathoid and used Morbius as host and returned him to the real world. Morbius would kidnap a girl and run into a fight with Spider-Man again. The resulted with the Empathoid entering Spider-Man's body and then fighting Morbius in a battle all over the city. In the end Empathoid died due to the over emotion of the crowd. Morbius left.

At one point Morbius takes some of Spider-Man's blood which cures Morbius of his vampirism. But this didn't last long. Morbius later meet Spider-Man in the Black suit while he was the master of a group of bums in the sewers.

Moribus tried to get Spider-Man's blood again but was tranquilized by Simon Stroud during his attack and was captured by Dr. Paine's men. He would later discover his hypnotic powers and use it to trick Spider-Man in giving him some of his blood.

He would soon be on the same side as Spider-Man while fighting Carnage and his evil family during Maximum Carnage but have strong difficulty getting along. Most of the time he was teamed up with Venom, Black Cat, Cloak, Dagger, and Nightwatch. He would also fight alongside with Spider-Man unwilling again but this time against Spider-X and Zzzax. But at first he thought Spider-Man was Spider-X. After he thought he was cured, he went on a feeding frenzy after he got his vampire powers back. But he hated feeding on the blood of others.

He would soon be seen in an image by Ghost Rider Danny Ketch of himself, Morbius, and others fighting Lilith. Ghost Rider and Blaze went to NYC to find Morbius in order him to join the Midnight Sons. After losing his love Martine in the hands of murder, Morbius swore to only drink the blood of the wicked. As soon as he started his life as an anti-hero, he required a new suit, got a job as a hematologist at St. Jude's and used his new alias Morgan Michaels. He would also encounter villains like the assassin turned vampire Vic Slaughter, the serial killer Basilisk, and even Nightmare. During a battle that took place in Greenland, the fully foamed Midnight Sons fought against Lilith and the Lilin. In the fight, Morbius drained the life out of Fang, a lilin that tainted Morbius's blood with demon blood.

One night while as his other Alias Morgan Michaels, Morbius received a call from Frank Drake telling his how Blade turned into Switchblade and how he might be after him. He later meets with friend Jack Russell (Werewolf By Night). As Morbius's feeding grows Jack tries to convince Morbius to get used to his curse and accept it. They soon encounter Switchblade and engage in a fight in the sewer. At one point of the battle, he tries to save Jack but fails and is stabbed to the wall and dies. But his demon Lilin side doesn't and attacks Switchblade only to be burned to death by Switchblade's reign of hellfire.

He is later resurrected after the Demon in Blade is destroyed.

He would later encounter a man named Gunther, a guys who's daughter Morbius killed a while back. He almost killed Morbius after trapping him in a electronic web, but Morbius escaped and later attacked a group of vicious thugs. Gunther saw that Morbius changed his ways and let him live.

During point his life during the Midnight Sons Unlimited, Morbius was being framed for a set of ruthless murders taking place in the subway. He decided that he wanted to get to the bottom of things. In the subway, Morbius found a hidden lab with a recorded journal entry.

He finds out from the journal, that a soviet doctor was seeing a patient with a rare blood disease. They had a child before she died. The child suffered from the blood disease even worst then it's mother. As the child got older it started to grow spike out of it's chest. But the spikes were really fangs. The child would feed off certain blood types of others to live (As well a special designed suit to live). The soviet doctor went to American to find Michael Morbius to find a cure for the baby. The baby was later given the nickname Bloodbath.

Morbius later fought Bloodbath after Bloodbath tried to kill a TV crew. After nearly losing, Morbius crippled the special suit that Bloodbath was wearing. Bloodbath slowly died. He later used his hypnotic powers on a female reporter to forget what she saw.

While a Darkhold victim named Spider-X was on the lose, Morbius thought it was Spider-Man. But it wasn't. Both Morbius and Spider-Man encounter Spider-X at his web. Morbius attacks Spider-X and is almost killed by him until Ghost Rider, Blaze, the Darkhold Redemers, and the Nightstalkers come to aid. Morbius throws him into the Midnight Son's line of fire but all of a sudden, a power slave called Zzzax breaks lose. Morbius then uses his hypnotic powers to make Spider-X attack Zzzax. Both Zzzax and Spider-X are destroyed. Spider-Man wants to turn in Morbius but is stopped by Hannibal King. Morbius then tells Spider-Man that they both have the same goal in life to protect the innocent and that he rather fight someone who deserves it. This angers Spider-Man saying that he and Morbius will meet again. Morbius does not wish this and flies into the night.

After he was resurrected he learned that he lost his soul. At this vulnerable point, Morbius was tricked by the Dwarf to use a Darkhold page. He used it to resurrected his old girlfriend Martine. However Martine did come back, but with the Lilin Parasite in her and getting commands by Lilith. . After this, Morbius's lust for blood was getting stronger the Lilin Bloodthirst was rupturing his mind. During this time, Jacob and Jack Russell tried to calm him but the craving Morbius had was to dangerous to handle. Even the demon Dyparere had trouble dealing with Morbius. At one point, Morbius felt he can control his craving and start a new. But during a sexual intercourse, his primal state was set lose and the Lilin Bloodthirst was released. At this point Werewolf by Night looked for the aid of Ghost Rider to snap Morbius back to his senses. But In the end subdued to the Lilin Bloodthirst.

During the Siege of Darkness, Morbius was possessed by the Lilith Bloodthirst. Possessed by the Lilin, Morbius betrayed the Midnight Sons by at first leading his team consisting of Blade, Frank Drake, Louise Hastings, Mordred The Mystic, and Jinx threw the mist leading them to a group of Lilin on the Brooklyn Bridge(but failed to get rid of them). Morbius then lead his team to a hide out where he got Meat market distract the other team members while he killed Louise Hastings and later got the other four Midnight Son captured. He then lead other Lilin to Doctor Strange's place where the other Midnight Sons were hiding. But Doctor Strange helped Morbius destroy Bloodthirst, and Morbius joined in the fight to save his fellow members.

Though he turned back, him, Blade, and the other Midnight Sons would not see eye to eye and end up fighting. From this point, Morbius did everything he can to redeem himself. He tried to convince the others only to get into conflict. But at one point he did convince ghost Rider and stopped the Lilin Sister Nil from killing anyone else.

At one point, after the fall of Dr. Strange's mansion by Lilith and the Lilin the Midnight Sons took time to escape to Caretaker's night club. But Morbius was left behind. During his time alone, he spied on Lilith, Zarathos, and the Lilin in graveyard. He later helped aid Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, and Vengeance save the Medallion of Power before Lilith can get her hands on it.

Afterwards, Morbius still didn't blame his teammates for not trusting him after he was possessed. But now he had to locate a member of The Blood known as Raydar. Morbius later finds a wounded baby Lilin. Morbius aids the innocent baby but is interrupted by Hannibal King who wanted the baby dead. Though Morbius tried to save it, the baby Lilin died. Though Hannibal King didn't care about the death, Morbius confronted King telling him it should make no difference if an innocent is human or demonic. The two later go out to find Raydar and member of the Blood.

After finding Raydar, they were found by the Fallen members known as Embyrre and Rubach. During the fight Morbius nearly drains all the blood from Embyrre while being burned alive until he spots Martine attacking Raydar. Morbius soon rips her chest open and releases the Lilin Parasite. Martine later recovers and Morbius holds her in his arms. Morbius's actions also influenced Embyrre to turn back to the side of good.

In the final battle of the Siege of Darkness, Morbius prominent in both battles against the Fallen. In the end he and Hannibal drained the blood of a Fallen member leaving Blade to finish her off. He would then try to stop Embyrre from returning to Zarathos. In the end he was given the brand of the Midnight Sons.

After the events of Siege of Darkness, Morbius was possessed along with Werewolf by Night by Mordred. He wanted to used them and Vengeance as a way to defeat Salome, only to find out Mordred was stabbing them in the back.

He would also help Ghost Rider and Brother Voodoo stop a living corpse from killing people.

Morbius would still try effortlessly to find a cure for himself. But during this time him and Martine were not really seeing eye to eye like they used to. Soon Morbius would team up with Deathlok and fight against the powerful hypnotist the Wrath from starting intense riots in the city. Later on he would also fight the Lilin Bloodthirst who controlled him. during a savage battle in St. Jude's Hospital.

Then we would be sought by the CIA to help find a crazed ex-agent. During this event he would get into conflicts with old enemy Simon Stoude, arch enemy Vic Slaughter, and Spider-Man/ Morbius would then fight Basilisk again as well as his relationship with ex-love Martine would start to diminish as he developed love for another woman named Lena. He would soon get into his dark craving for blood and while trying to be aided by friend Jacob and Werewolf by Night, Morbius killed himself in the sun light. At his funeral Morbius was brought back to life by the Dark Dwarf.

For a short period of time he had a better control off is power and even helped Lena save a woman. But Martine later revealed to Lena that Morgan was Morbius and set the relation to a downward spiral. He then told Lena that we will try and due good. That is the last he ever saw over her. He then got back his bloodlust.

As we all ready knew, Morbius and Blade have an on and off hate relationship. Years after the Nightstalkers fell during a battle with Varnea, and Blade fighting a returning Deacon Frost, Blade and Morbius team up and beat Frost. Also at one point Morbius would attack and bit X-Man and threaten Thernody. But he would be defeated by both X-Man and Spider-Man.

Later on, Morbius was genetically altered to fight a super vampire named Hunger. Morbius stored in a chest. The chest was caught by King Pin and Jimmy 5. Blade was following the chest Morbius was in. Morbius escaped, killed some of King Pin's men and bit Blade. Then Morbius was shocked by Kingpin's cane. Spider-Man was present at this battle as well. Morbius wanted Spider-Man to let Blade kill him but Spider-Man wouldn't let it happen. Blade then left Morbius to Spider-Man. Spider-Man then took the injured Morbius to Tricorp Research. Morbius would later leave Tricorp Research.

Morbius would then try to bit the neck of a crippled teen. (wither to turn him into a vampire to walk and speak or end his suffering) He was stopped by Spider-Man who threw him off of a roof. Morbius would later join the Superhuman Registration Act. This would lead him to catch Blade and have Blade to be sent off to fight Wolverine.

The latest appearance of Morbius was in the new Legion of Monsters where Morbius now lives in San Francisco. At some point of his life he was hanging out with a bunch of junkies, but would later go hide in a church to die of thirst. At this time, he would be taunted by a talking bat (maybe Dracula) to kill the teens and saver their blood. After one teenager died of an overdose, they wanted Morbius to bring her back to life by biting her. She came back to life and ended up killing all her friends. Morbius then killed the vampire girl.
