Rob Liefeld announced today that he plans to follow Grant Morrison's steps and leave DC Comics to pursue more creator-owned work. Liefeld retweeted a CBR article in which Morrison announced that he was shifting towards working exclusively on creator-owned comics and added "I will be close behind."
Liefeld added that the current corporate working conditions at Marvel and DC to "be a bear" and that DC had hired him to stop rapid loss of sales on Deathstroke, Grifter and The Savage Hawkman. As all three titles were enjoying solid sales of less than 20,000 , Liefeld felt that it would soon be time to move back to creator-owned comics.
