JH Williams returns to drawing interiors with this month's issue #12; Batwoman teams with Wonder Woman
In an interview with Newsarama, JH Williams III talks about returning to interior art duties with issue #12, teasers about September's issue #0, and Batwoman teaming up with Wonder Woman.
Staring with this month's issue #12, readers will see Williams return as rotating artist sharing duties with Trevor McCarthy.
The first challenge was how to deal with the September issue #0 interruption of the arc beginning in issue #12. The majority of DC titles will wrap up their current storylines with the August issues, however Williams and Co-Writer, Haden Blackman, found a way around that.
The #0 issue is actually a terrific jumping-on point for new readers. Kate may reference events that happened in issue #12, but you won't be lost without reading it. You won't have to have any pre-existing knowledge of Batwoman to pick up the #0 issue and enjoy it.
Utilizing the #0 flash-back plot, readers will get to see Kate's perspective on the previous events in her life from the perspective of who she is now. This will also lend itself as a perfect jumping-on point for new readers, as well as giving current readers some new insights not seen before. Williams also promises that events seen in #0 will lead to things coming up in later issues.
They contrast this issue #0 to the first one that came out one year ago. That #0 was from Batman's point of view as he delved into Kate's background. This new #0 will be from Kates POV and allow us to get more into Kate's head than previously done.
The first arc had a supernatural tone. The second arc was more spy thriller. The new arc will be fantasy with a dash of the supernatural featuring different points of view from Kate and Wonder Woman.
