Mike Allred Leaves Daredevil After Only One Issue

Marvel has released a first look at Daredevil #18, which shows Chris Samnee back on art chores.

Fans were elated when they heard that superstar artist Mike Allred would be taking over Daredevil art with issue #17. This is no slight toward Chris Samnee, who drew, in this reporter's opinion, the finest Volstagg of all time in Siege Embedded and has been doing a great job with Mark Waid on Daredevil. However, Allred is a comics legend, and many fans were hoping for more than one issue before he left the book.

It is unknown whether creative disputes with Mark Waid, a known hothead, led to the parting of ways, but it seems unlikely that Allred, a professional, would leave a book after only one issue, as if he were simply doing a guest spot on the book for one issue only all along. In any case, here's the preview from Marvel, with some great-looking artwork from Samnee, who is doing his best to make up for the unexpected loss with this educational issue examining the human vascular system.
