Madefire, the digital comics company producing "Motion Books" available on the iPad, made a major announcement today. The company is bringing on Ben Abernathy, DC's forward-thinking former Digital Group Editor who oversaw the company's switch to day and date digital releases, and will be launching an initiative to release new content on a weekly basis. The company, which boast an impressive roster of talent and executives that already includes Dave Gibbons, Brian Bolland, Doug Braithwaite, and Liam Sharpe will release the following new episodes and titles throughout August and September:
Abernathy begins his new role at Madefire on September 4th. In anticipation of the move, Apple has already filed an injunction against Samsung claiming to hold the patent on "former DC editors joining digital comics companies."
