Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures announced that the new Godzilla remake will be released on May 16, 2014 and will be shown in 3D. While details are still scant about the new film, we do know that Legendary wants to bring the movie "back to its roots" by making the movie a "gritty, realistic actioner" according to the Hollywood Reporter.
It should be noted that one of the script writers of the movie is David Goyer, who also wrote The Dark Knight trilogy. That in and of itself should ensure that the movie is better than the hated 1998 movie featuring Matthew Broderick. Speaking of that abomination of a movie, did you know that Toho had its Godzilla kill the pansy American Godzilla during a 13 second fight scene in Godzilla: Final Wars. While that has nothing to do with the new remake, I had to come up with some filler for the end of this article.
