Leaving Megalopolis' success with Kickstarter is just the thing Gail Simone needed to mount her comeback!
Gail Simone, formally a well known comic book creator who fell off the grid with the cancelation of Agent X in 2003, at least as far as this Marvel zombie can tell, announced via twitter this afternoon that her new project, Leaving Megalopolis, broke the Kickstarter(*) record set by noted socialist Marc Silvestri’s Cyberforce campaign.
The Outhouse is always looking for “feel good” stories, and we are happy to report that Simone’s comeback is off to a successful start. We can only hope that she can use this opportunity to get the attention of some mainstream publishers and, maybe, re-claim her place as the top female comic book creator.
On behalf of The Outhouse, congratulations Ms. Simone.
And, good luck.
(*)Kickstarter is a website that allows creators without the financial backing of a major corporation to obtain crowd funding for their projects, which obviously makes it perfect for someone like Simone.

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time. RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage. Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write. RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them. RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
