Diamond Comics has our comics and refuses to ship them.
Diamond Comics announced that it would not be shipping comics during the week of December 24th, causing many industry insiders to openly wonder if the comics distributor was on the verge of collapse. "It's definitely possible," said one entirely made up source. "The industry's been on the brink of ruin for twenty years now."
Due to the off week, retailers will have no comics during one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Many retailers were looking forward to new comics being released on the 26th and had planned to heavily promote the date as "Brand New Comics Day." However, without new comics, the retailers were forced to change the celebration as "Slightly Stale, Week Old Comic Book Day".
The distributor's official reason for the off-week is due to an unspecified holiday occuring on December 25th. However, the Official Outhouse Factchecking Squad could find no major holidays occuring on December 25th. "The birth of Christ was actually in October," said ThanosCopter, official head of the Factchecking Squad and a notorious know it all. "Therefore, there's no reason why Diamond Comics shouldn't be giving us our comics on time and as scheduled. Obviously, Diamond is hiding something."
Diamond did state that select books would be shipped out the week before, allowing retailers to have some new books on shelves if they choose. While Diamond assured its customers that shipments would resume for the following week, many remain skeptical.
Our friends at Nix Comics are sponsoring The Outhouse this week. Show them you appreciate it by checking out their comics. One dollar from every Nix Comics sold this month will go to Kirby-4-Heroes.
