Vertigo hopes to have some things bode well for them over the next few months.

During a panel at the Dublin based comic expo D.I.C.E., Vertigo editor Mark Doyle opined about the lack of sci-fi comics being published through the Vertigo imprint of DC and suggested that the publisher would be taking steps to correct this error in the near future, with announcements coming as soon as NYCC. Jeff Lemire followed up by suggesting that he would be involved with one of these new Vertigo series on Twitter. Rich Johnston, Rumormonger-in-Chief of BleedingCool, also suggested that DC's favorite son Scott Snyder would also be writing a series with art from Sean Murphy.
Vertigo's last attempt at pushing new series didn't go so well, with one title cancelled out of the gate and another struggling to stay afloat. However, with a Before Sandman miniseries beginning soon and an Django Unchained adaptation also set to be released, the imprint should have a wave of goodwill pushing it through to the end of the year. Here's to hoping that Vertigo can prop up it's weak line with a few new series to replace Scalped and Sweet Tooth, both of which have ended or will be ending soon.
