Ben Affleck's opinion of comic book movies have soured since working on Daredevil.
The rumored Justice League movie, which we've established to be a trainwreck before a director is named, a script has been turned in, or any definitive blueprint has been set up will definitely not be directed by Ben Affleck. Speaking to MTV, Affleck confirmed that he will not be involved with the movie, which may or may not be starring Gina Carano as Aquaman (we made up that rumor because Gina Carano took a picture laying on water, so obviously she's taken on the role).
Speaking with MTV, Affleck confirmed that he wasn't approached about any Justice League movie but that he was approached about the Daredevil reboot, which he turned down to ensure that it didn't go down the path of the awful 2003 movie. He also said that he'd prefer to stay away from superhero movies in general as his experiences with Daredevil was awful. However, if he saw a superhero script/pitch that he "loved" he'd do it in a heartbeat, so there's still hope for that Affleck-directed Howard the Duck reboot that we've all been waiting for.
So, now that Affleck is out of the picture, what other directors do you think could handle the Justice League. Personally, I think Steven Spielburg would be great for the role. Can anyone produce a decade old quote of Spielburg that we can use to whip the Internet into a new rumor frenzy?
