The interview is news in that I was unaware Jimmy Kimmel still had a show on.
Jimmy Kimmel, the twelfth most popular late night talk show host on television, announced that Marvel CCO Joe Quesada would be appearing on the show this evening. Quesada is coming to promote Marvel NOW!, the hotly anticipated palate cleanser spinning out of mega-event/abomination against mankind Avengers vs. X-Men.
Appearing on Kimmel's show is the television equivalent to doing an interview for CBR, the Internet mouthpiece for Marvel and DC. Viewers can expect plenty of fluff questions mixed with the occasional dated joke about geeks not getting laid enough. Kimmel, who is best known for his stint as Ben Stein's sidekick on a cable game show, also shares bosses with Quesada; they both work for the Disney umbrella of media playthings. However, the move is a shrewd one for Marvel; the interview has the opportunity to be seen by nearly all of Jimmy Kimmel's 30,000 viewers, a number which eclipses sales of many of the company's comics.
The show will air at midnight Tuesday evening (that's tonight). Quesada's segment will come after the yawn-inducing monologue and sketches that heavily rely on celebrity appearances to be remotely watchable.
