The series will be focus on General Hume's lieutenants.
Oni Press announced that it would be releasing a new The Sixth Gun miniseries entitled Sons of a Gun. The series, a prequel to the main series, would focus on General Hume's four lieutenants, all of whom appeared in the opening arc of the main series. Series creators Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt will write the series with Secret History of DB Cooper creator Brian Churilla providing art.
In an interview with CBR, Bunn and Hurtt said that the series would not directly tie into the current Sixth Gun arc, but would provide depth into the series and offer a deeper look into several characters that they had not had an opportunity to explore in the main series. Each of the first four issues will focus on one of Hume's lieutenants: Bill Sumter, Ben Kinney, Will Arcane, and Silas Hedgepeth, all of whom possess one of the infamous magic guns at the center of the series.
The Sixth Gun has had a big weekend, with NBC announcing that they were working on a television adaptation produced by Carlton Cuse. Now that the series has a prequel and a Hollywood project in development, we feel that it's only a matter of time before Oni begins producing officially licensed toasters.
