The Science Channel hosts a very special 10th Anniversary reunion of Joss Whedon and the Firefly cast tonight @ 10p.
Firefly: Browncoats Unite finally airs tonight (11/11) @ 10p after months of anticipation following the casts exciting reunion this past summer at Comic-Con. Entertainment Weekly's senior writer Jeff Jensen hosts Joss Whedon and members of Firefly's cast & crew for an in-depth discussion of the beloved series inception, past and possible future. The day long celebration launched this morning with a marathon of episodes on the Science Channel and will culminate in the long-awaited Browncoats Unite reunion special tonight.
The 60-minute Q&A, on a recreated set from Serenity, promises a detailed oral history based around exclusive cast interviews and footage from their exciting Comic-Con reunion. Watch as Joss, Nathan Fillion, Summer Glau, Morena Baccarin, Jewel Staite, Alan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Sean Maher and Adam Baldwin are joined by series co-creator Tim Minear and executive story editor Jose Molina to offer precious memories and insights into one of the most treasured, if short-lived, sci-fi series in history.
Science Channel Vice President Debbie Myers said of the event, "Firefly is a landmark work of science fiction and a favorite with our viewers. Ever since it premiered on Science, fans have asked us to do something special to mark its 10-year anniversary. With this signature celebration, punctuated by Browncoats Unite, we will connect the minds behind this classic franchise with its legions of passionate fans. When Science Channel began airing FIREFLY in 2011, we immediately realized that these fans are a subculture united by a unique and fanatical passion for the series. Our goal is to present them the series they love — but in a totally new and surprising way. Whether that's through exploring the science behind the show or reuniting the entire cast for the first time, we want Science Channel to be the home for Browncoats everywhere."
