Bungie's Next Project:

Since we're talking about leaked video game info today, we can't leave out the big one about Bungie's next project: 'Destiny'.

A reader sent some info to IGN today on Bungie's next project: "Destiny" and it was later confirmed by Bungie themselves as they posted "Well, that just happened.... again." They went on to say they weren't quite ready to release info yet, but for fans to go ahead and take a peak if they want and they will have more info soon.

According to the post, the game's plot details were sent in as well as several pieces of concept art:

Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.

It is also mentioned the goal of the game sounds to be less 'mature' and more accessable to all ages, hoping to match the depth and appeal of Star Wars.  It's also been called by Bungie execs a "world to explore with friends, both old and new", as to what that means toward multi-player content, we'll have to wait and see.  Also, according the cover image released, this will not be an xbox only title, though it may be XBox exclusive initially.

Bungie posted this image, along with their blog post today, the other images following are from the leaked artwork from IGN's source and additional promo images from Bungie.  The huge vessel appearing in many of the images was referred to as "The Traveler" in the documentation, could it be sentient and not just a vessel?
