If DC Reboots Captain Carrot as a Cheap Rocket Raccoon Knockoff in a Book No One Cares About, Does Anyone Notice?

There seems to be a lack of indignation over the New 52's redesign of Captain Carrot. The character, originally a Superman pastiche with similar powers, has been redesigned as an anthropomorphic space rabbit wielding big guns. Oh, and he's been renamed Captain K'Rot. Captain K'Rot will appear in Keith Giffen's Threshold, beginning with issue #3.
If that redesign sounds familiar, it might be because Giffen wrote another gun wielding anthropomorphic space animal named Rocket Raccoon. Giffen's work on the character helped propel the space raccoon to new heights. He'll even be featured in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
Anyways, I'll leave it to you to decide whether DC is ripping off Marvel and whether or not DC has ruined your childhood. Carry on.
