Outhouse to Change Slogan After Deplorable Actions of Rich Johnston

In light of recent actions by Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston, The Outhouse introduces a new slogan.

Something like ten months ago, a nine-year-old boy, suffering from Leukemia, wrote a letter to Marvel Comics talking about how comic book inspire him, saying that he will beat Leukemia like Spider-Man always beats Doc Ock. According to SPOILERS from Amazing Spider-Man #700, out this week, Spider-Man's victory may not be as inevitable as once believed, providing what some heartless rapscallions might call an interesting juxtaposition.
Why on Earth would we make this connection? Why would anyone?
Well, most people wouldn't. However, most of the internet has been today after quasi-reporter, Grinch-like holiday ruiner, and probable sociopath Rich Johnston posted a scan of the letter on Bleeding Cool in a post titled "Um..."
As you can imagine, many were not pleased when Johnston used the plight of a nine-year-old cancer patient to make fun of Marvel. A furor broke out on Twitter, led by prominent writer Ron Marz and gun control activist Dan Slott (find their Twitter pages yourselves - we've had too much eggnog to be hyperlinking), who asked all of his own followers to unfollow Bleeding Cool.
Before long, Johnston edited the post, boldly claiming that he had meant the post to be inspirational. Shortly thereafter, conceding defeat, Johnston removed the image and turned the post into a half-hearted apology and explanation.
The Outhouse isn't offended by this necessarily. We're not really offended by anything, with the exception of the mistreatment of beloved character Cyclops in Marvel's Avengers vs. X-Men event. It's more that we have the good sense to realize that making fun of Marvel via a letter from a nine-year-old suffering from Leukemia is a bad idea. There are plenty of ways to make fun of Marvel that don't require exploiting the serious situation of an innocent child.
And when we realized that, we realized something else. Despite once being referred to by Newsarama mogul and alleged sex fiend Lucas Siegel as "the dregs of Newsarama's old message boards," we've grown here at The Outhouse. We've become more mature. We know the difference between right and wrong. And Rich Johnston doesn't.
We would never post something like that on our front page. Our forum posters will probably say something worse twenty more times before the year is done because they are the worst people ever, but we would never say it on the front page. Rich Johnston would.
And so, for the year 2013, The Outhouse will no longer be known as "The Greatest Comic Book Website." Instead, we will be adopting our new slogan, "Better Than Rich Johnston by That Much." The slogan will be accompanied by The Outhouse's new logo, a picture of a hand with the thumb and index finger extended, making the universal gesture for "tiny."
Shame on you, Rich Johnston. Even we know better. You naughty boy.
