The actor has been attached to the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt seems intent on destroying the superhero movie genre from within. After bringing a definitive end to The Dark Knight trilogy and forcing the GI Joe franchise to reboot itself (in 3D!), the actor and Internet heartthrob has turned his attention to Guardians of the Galaxy. Deadline is reporting that the actor has been approached to star in the sci-fi franchise. Previously, the actor starred in Premium Rush, a movie which almost ruined Hollywood this year.
While it's expected that JGL is expected to be in competition for the leading role of Peter Quill, a new rumor (started in the Outhouse newsroom) links the actor to the role of Rocket Raccoon. It's thought that by casting Gordon-Levitt as the talking raccoon, Marvel studios could save millions of dollars in CGI costs, as the actor already resembles an overgrown rodent.
Of course, Gordon-Levitt's defection to Marvel would be a major blow to the oft-rumored Justice League movie, which various internet sites desperately reference in the vague hope of Internet hits. For more on what JGL's rumored casting would do to a rival superhero movie that lacks a script, cast, director and coherent direction, be sure to check out ComicBook.com, the Internet's #1 source for JGL superhero casting rumors, who probably has at least four articles about Gordon-Levitt up already.
