In 2006, cartoonist Gene Luen Yang came out with American Born Chinese, the graphic novel that arguably put publisher First Second on the map. The book scored all kinds of accolades, and marked Yang as a talent to watch.
Now Wired has exclusively announced Yang's next project: a two-volume OGN entitled Boxers & Saints. According to WIred's Laura Hudson, Boxers & Saints takes place "during a time in Chinese history when many were asked to choose between their country and their faith. While Boxers tells the story of a peasant who joins the Rebellion, Saints follows the spiritual journey of a Chinese woman who converts to Catholicism." Click on over to Wired.com to read a ten-page preview of the book, as well as an interview with Yang about the book.
Boxers & Saints is due out this September.
