Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Dancing With the Stars season 12 winner Hines Ward will be stretching some newfound acting skills as he makes a cameo appearance on a Feb. 11 episode of The Walking Dead as a zombie.
"It was an amazing experience," Ward said. "Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool. I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after."
The former Steeler already had ties to The Walking Dead prier to his cameo. IronE Singleton (T-Dog) was Ward's teammate with the Georgia Bulldogs in 1998. Also, Ward once died and rose up from his grave with a hunger for human flesh. One of those sentences is a lie.
Ward's previous acting experience was in the Dark Knight Rises, trying to escape Bane's wave of destruction as a member of the Gotham Rogues. Sadly, zombies vs. Bane's minions would make a better Super Bowl than the San Francisco 49ers playing the Baltimore Ravens.
Ben Roethlisberger was going to play a zombie victim oh the The Walking Dead But as zombies only eat brains, the producers realized that they would starve trying to feast on Big Ben's empty noggin.
