Additionally, an international version of the Japanese trailer was released:
There was no official announcement of the film being released outside of Japan; but with Toei's other project Gaiking with its outside partners, and the English-voiced trailer; there is hope.
Created by Leiji Matsumoto (Space Battleship Yamato, Galaxy Express 999), Captain Harlock first appeared in Adventures of a Honeybee (1953), but did not become famous until he receieved his own series in 1978. There have been many versions of Harlock over the years but he is mostly portrayed as rebellious but noble, and a very skilled and fearless, space pirate.
