Originally brought to light in Janurary 2011, it seems that the reboot of the 1965 Thunderbirds series is still a go even after the recent passing of one of the show's main creators, Gerry Anderson.
The original series dramatized the exploits of a futuristic rescue team that eployed their fantastic machines to perform those rescues. The characters were done in "Supermarionation", a form of puppetry. It's unknown if new series, co-produced by ITV Studios in the UK and Pukeko Pictures and WETA Workshop both from New Zealand will contain puppetry, but it is noted that CGI will be involved along with live-action model sets (so probably not).
26 half hour episodes have been ordered. It should start airing in the UK in 2015. Unknown when and if this will air in the USA.
