The genetically engineered super-writer scores another sellout, as The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Guns #1 gets a second printing!!!
Source: Press Release
Oni sent us a press release today announcing the sellout and second printing of The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun #1 by Cullen Bunn, which is a lot of fun, and will go back to press for another print run. Yeah, we're not proud of that sentence, but it's out there now so we're sticking with it.
Bunn has been dominating the comic book industry for the past year, and his ascension to the upper echelon of comic creators has proven to be unstoppable. As such, we expect him to start actively avoiding us any day now (it's for your own good, Cullen - we understand), but when that happens, we'll continue to admire him, enjoy his work, and bake pastries in his honor.
While Sons of the Gun is co-written by regular series artist and co-creator Brian Hurtt and drawn by Brian Churilla, whose name shares an unprecedented eight letters with Hurtt, the book will get a cover by Petrograd artist and Weezer bassist Tyler Crook, which will be revealed in the coming weeks by Oni Press, who don' t just keep these kinds of things lying around, just in case they need to put out a press release. As a result, they've included a lovely glamour shot of Crook instead, which you can view below, and perhaps right-click, save, and set as your new desktop wallpaper.
If you didn't already pick up a copy of The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun #1, we hate you and we hope you die, but, more importantly, go to your local comic shop right now (throw a brick through the window if they're not open) and reserve yourself a copy of this second printing, which will be in stores...
Well, Oni didn't mention a date. No cover image, no press date... Do you guys need a project manager? Call us. We would totally do the job, and would absolutely not use it as a flimsy excuse to gain entry to Oni's offices so we can obsessively go through Bunn's trash and personal belongings after hours. Nope. Not our plan at all.
Here's the press release:
THE SIXTH GUN: SONS OF THE GUN #1 GOES BACK FOR SECOND PRINTING WITH A TYLER CROOK COVER
Retailers and fans have spoken!
The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun #1 has sold out at the distributor so we will be going back to the presses for a second printing. We wanted to celebrate so to sweeten the deal, The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun #1 will be reprinted with a new cover.
The second print run of Sons of the Gun #1 will be sporting a new cover by the one and only Tyler Crook of Petrograd & B.P.R.D. (Dark Horse).
If you haven’t already read it, this issue is an untold tale of the Six! Since the very first issue of The Sixth Gun, readers have clamored for more information about General Hume’s horsemen. And now the story can be told. What happened to the horsemen after their master died? This issue, “Bloodthirsty” Bill Sumter finds himself alone, on the brink of death, and undergoing a frightening transformation.
Stayed tuned in the coming weeks for the unveiling of what will surely be a cover any collector would drool over!
