Dynamite announced that Gail Simone, of Batgirl and Secret Six fame, will be writing their Red Sonja series beginning in July.  The series will have art by Walter Giovani and covers from female artists such as Nicola Scott, Colleen Doran, Jenny Frisson, Stephanie Buscema and Fiona Staples.

While details about the series were sparse, Simone hinted at a new nemesis for Red Sonja and stated that, while the character would be getting several new costumes, she wouldn't be getting rid of the popular chain mail bikini armor.

One intriguing note to this story is that the news confirms that Simone is no longer DC exclusive.  She had been working exclusively for the publisher for a very, very long time.
