Kurt Busiek will be writing a new ongoing Astro City series, to be released by DC Comics in June 2013. In an interview with MTV Geek, Busiek revealed that the entire original creative team of Busiek, Brent Anderson, Alex Ross, John Roshell, Comicraft and Alex Sinclair would all be returning to a new series.
The original Astro City ended back in 2010, which Busiek revealed was due to health issues on his end. However, Busiek has stated that his health has improved to the point where he hopes that the new Astro City series will be released monthly.
Busiek stated that the project would feature new heroes, such as American Chibi, as well as many returning heroes and Astro City concepts.
I'd say something snarky, but I'm just glad Busiek's back on his feet and is making some new comics. For more details about the new Astro City, be sure to check out the full MTV Geek interview.
