FOX released a statement on their website today stating:
After much consideration and discussions between the network and Matt Groening, the FOX Broadcasting Company has decided to pursue legal actions against CBS Broadcasting Inc. and Stephen King for their plagiarizing of the completely original idea behind The Simpsons Movie. This was a difficult decision to come to, but after seeing how those punks over at Vertigo pussied out over Once Upon A Time thereby allowing Disney/ABC to shove their way into the modern fantasy comic book market, we feel we have no option but to fight back with legal actions.
The Simpsons Movie, which focused on the town of Springfield’s fall into depravity after being enclosed in a mysterious dome, was released in theaters a full two years before Stephen King’s novel, Under The Dome, was published, and a full four years before anyone was able to trudge through and actually finish the book. Under The Dome is a novel where a mysterious dome traps a small town in, SHOCK, Maine, and how the town turns on itself and falls into anarchy. The book, which is roughly 22,000 pages long, details every minute moment and action of the 23 main characters and is, like all King books, way too fucking long.
FOX is asking for a “shit ton” of money and 42% of the back end profits, whatever that means. When reached for comment, Stephen King was unavailable due to having been attacked by a dead tree stump that had been possessed by the vengeful sprit of a hedgehog.

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time. RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage. Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write. RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them. RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
