When Peter Parker was killed and replaced by the evil Doctor Octopus in Peter's body, fans were outraged, especially during the mildly rapey first couple of months. However, as the controversy has died down, most fans have come to realize that this UNIVERSE SHATTERING STATUS QUO CHANGE!!! will be temporary, and that Peter Parker is bound to return soon enough. Before that happens, however, Marvel wants to make sure they get their money's worth.
That's why they've just announced Superior Spider-Man Team-Up by Chris Yost and David Lopez. The comic will feature Doctor Spiderpuss teaming up with some unexpected characters and showing off how mean and not Spider-manny he is. The book will also highlight how incredibly stupid every other character in the Marvel Universe is, since none have them seem to be able to figure out that this is not the same guy some of them have known since the goddamn 1960s.
So come on, bro. Marvel just needs a little extra cash, and they're willing to produce completely unnecessary books that no one was asking for, like Superior Carnage and this one, to get it, which shows how desperate they are. These must be dark times for Marvel. Please help them out.
On the bright side, Chris Yost is not Dan Slott, which means you can write a negative review of this book if you so choose without fear of being repeatedly called an idiot on the interwebs. Also, you might not want to, since the book will probably be pretty good, based on Yost's track record.
Here's the press release:
