When it was rumored that Michael Rooker was being cast in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movie, websites quickly speculated that he'd be the voice actor for Rocket Racoon, because he'd be perfect for it, despite sounding nothing like a raccoon. "He's best friends with director James Gunn," they said. "Obviously, he's going to play the breakout role. And he's going to bring his brother Darryl Dixon along with him, too! And JGL!"
Well, shocker, fanboys were wrong once again. Michael Rooker has been cast as Yondu, a finheaded blue alien archer. That's right, Rooker is playing Hawkeye....IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCEEEEEE! Oh, and when Yondu whistles, his arrows change direction. So that's one thing that makes Yondu less useless than Hawkeye.
Guess who predicted that Yondu would be in this movie? If you answered "No one," give yourself 3 Hollywood points.
On a related note, Yondu will be coming to movie theatres before Wonder Woman or the Flash. Fuckin' Yondu.
