Justin Theroux to Replace JGL in Doctor Strange Flick?

Rumor has it Justin Theroux is being strongly considered for the role of Doctor Strange in the Marvel Phase 3 movie.

When fans first learned that Marvel would be making a Doctor Strange movie as part of their third wave of superhero movies after Avengers 2, it was plainly obvious to everyone that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was a shoe-in for the role. However, CHUD is reporting that Marvel is showing a strong interest in Mullholland Drive star Justin Theroux instead. Confused, The Outhouse investigated, thinking that perhaps Justin Theroux is some kind of pseudonym for Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but it turns out that he is indeed a real and completely different actor. The revelation has caused shock and confusion throughout the comic book blogosphere.

"I just don't understand Marvel," said Comicbook.net's lead Joseph Gordon-Levitt Casting Rumor Correspondent Gus Sterlingham. "Joseph Gordon-Levitt was born to play Doctor Strange."

"I don't like this Theroux rumor. It's baseless speculation at its worst," explained Sterlingham, who has written hundreds of articles baselessly speculating on JGL's casting as popular superheroes, including one shamelessly titled 'Should Joseph Gordon-Levitt Get a Sex Change to Play Wonder Woman in the Justice League Movie?'

Gordon-Levitt, or JGL as he is known in fandom, is widely considered to be the best candidate to play every single superhero ever created. The fanboy heartthrob is the subject of casting rumors every time a new superhero movie is announced. The rumors have gotten to be so frequent that JGL recently showed up late to shoot Sin City 2 because he could no longer figure out which movies he was actually cast in and which were baseless fan speculation.

"This really throws a monkey wrench into my publishing plans," a depressed Sterlingham lamented.

It's still early and there has been no official announcement about Theroux, so plans could certainly change. There is also no news on the casting of any other characters in the film, though Joseph Gordon-Levitt is considered an early front runner for the role of Strange's manservant, Wong.
