Metropolis was shook to its core after Superman and his (not really ex-)wife Lois Lane got into a fight over the latter's birthday. According to reports, Superman came home from a long evening of crimefighting and putzing around on the Internet (remember, he's an Internet blogger now) to find Lois waiting angrily for him in their kitchen.
"Did you forget something today?" Lois Lane asked Superman angrily. Upon seeing the blank look on Superman's face, the Pulitzer Prize winning producer became irate. "It's my birthday, you asshole!" Lois Lane then began to berate the superhero, complaining that he forgot her birthday every year, despite the two sharing the same birthdate.
While Superman tried to diffuse the situation by flying to Paris and buying Lois expensive jewelry, Lois was not impressed with the gesture. She grew even angrier when she discovered that the Justice League had thrown Superman a surprise birthday party earlier today. "So that harpy of an Amazon is more important than me?" Lois yelled. "Are you sleeping with her, Clark? Are you?" Lois then stormed out after telling Superman that he was spending the night at Jonathan Carroll's swank apartment.
Distraught with the situation, Superman flew off and reversed the Earth's rotation, effectively rewinding time to that morning. Unfortunately, he discovered a plot to poison the Metropolis reservoir which he had to foil, causing him to forget about Lois's birthday once again.
