Fox unveiled a trailer for a 3D CGI Peanuts Film at CinemaCon this week, but at least one fan of traditional, hand-drawn animation took the news very poorly. Al Garcia, a 54 year old Springfield, LA man reportedly passed away this morning after learning of the news. According to reports from local investigators, Garcia read about the movie in a story on Ain't It Cool News around 3:15PM on Thursday and immediately suffered a massive heart attack. He was dead by the time ambulances arrived.

The 3D CGI Peanuts movie trailer comes just days after it was reported that Disney had laid off most of their own hand-drawn animation department, to the dismay of fans of traditional animation like Garcia, who posted about that story on Facebook earlier this week, saying, "OMG Disney is spitting on the legacies of the great animators who got them where they are today. Walt's head is rolling over in its secret underground cryogenic freezing chamber!"  The decision of Disney and other studios to focus on computer animation instead of hand-drawn is based on a variety of factors, most notably the underwhelming box office performance of 2009's The Princess and the Frog and the soul-sucking desire of corporations to make as much money as possible at the expense of the humanity of their employees.

A preliminary search through Garcia's internet browsing history shows that he has been a vocal critic of CGI, posting on various message boards and social networks about how "fake" and "creepy" CGI looks, and how much nicer traditional animation was "back in the day." When investigators found Garcia's body, he was crumpled on the ground next to his computer desk, still clutching his chest. A half-typed comment on the Ain't It Cool News page read, "Good grief! Not Charlie Brown too! AAUUUGGGHHHHH! This is the worst news I'vaeasgoihbweflWEGWwgw!@$1241"

AICN's description of the trailer is as follows:

The footage was merely Charlie Brown in CG, with sun rising over a round surface that you think is a planet, but turns out to be Charlie Brown's head.

Garcia is survived by a wife Linda, 52, son Al Jr., 29, and mother Cathy, 73. When reached for comment, Cathy Garcia, a retired school teacher, told reporters, "Wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah? Wah wah wah wah wah. Wah wah wah wah."

First announced last October, the CGI Peanuts movie is set for release on November 6, 2015, and will feature all the beloved Peanuts characters from your childhood, such as Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty, and Snoopy, in all their uncanny glory.
