Source: Here Are Some Guardians of the Galaxy Casting Notices
The UK-based Uni-versalEXTRAS recently posted a casting call for students that sounds like they are looking for extras/doubles for Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Though not cited specifically by name (which they don't normally do), the description posted included a variation on this passage:
"new Marvel Super hero film about a team of super heroes who protect the Galaxy in the future of a different dimension"
There are a few tidbits that are interesting from the call that stick out a bit. The current comics incarnation of the Guardians of the Galaxy which features Starlord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Gamora, and Groot are present-day adventurers in the "normal" Marvel Universe (aka. 616). Yet the casting description notes "future" and "different dimension".
So unless they are going to change the story that much, this gives more clues that the original 1969 version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which takes place in an alternate 31st-century Marvel Universe (691), might also play a role in the movie. Readers of the Outhouse already know that one of the original group's characters, Yondu, was announced as being cast a few days ago. Might we expect more characters from the original Guardians to appear?
Other interesting notes about the casting call are that they are looking for amputees, albinos, tall people, "Dark Monks", mutant soldiers, bald people, and very muscular people. The Marvel Universe sounds like it will be a very interesting place.
Perhaps we'll see one of the Outhouse British Teens™ on the big screen?

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movie will be launching in theaters August 1, 2014.
