Source: Hierarchy of Sponges
A day after the shuttering of ComicsAlliance, Valerie Gallaher announced that she was no longer writing for MTV Geek. Gallaher's been working for MTV Geek for the last two and a half years, and she quickly developed the site into a legit news source with plenty of commentary on the comic industry and geek culture in general. While I can't say I was a fan of MTV Geek's format (though I do a ton of browsing on an outdated version of IE, so YMMV on that), Gallaher was always a legit commentator and a pleasure to read.
Those who followed her writing might have suspected something was up, as she's only contributed a handful of articles to MTV Geek over the last month, and began updating on her personal blog, Hierarchy of Sponges, more and more.
Gallaher hasn't given any clue as to her next step, but much like the ComicsAlliance crew, I really hope she lands on her feet and continues bringing her insight to the inudstry.
Man, this has been a weird week for the blogosphere. And it's only Tuesday.
