The blatant sexism towards the actresses of Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues. A slew of websites are speaking out about a new image showing actress Emma Stone on he set of the upcoming movie, many of which imply that she'd be better off naked.
"Gwen Stacy wearing big spoiler" says io9, as if Stone wearing clothing during one scene of the movie would somehow spoil everyone's enjoyment of the film.
"New Gwen Stacy Set Photo Is Tantalizing" adds ComicBook.com, implying that they'd like to see her out of it. Tantalizing is a word best used to describe bacon and fast cars, not actresses.
"Do New Gwen Stacy Images Hint At Grim Ending?" CraveOnline.com says. Damn it people, just because a beautiful and talented actress doesn't strip down to her skivvies doesn't mean the movie's grim!
"'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Set Pics Spell Doom" says ScreenCrush. Her clothing don't spell Doom or anything else for that matter! It's just a purple dress and a green trenchco-- Oh.
Readers, I've just been informed that most of these titles refer not to various websites' disappointment with Emma Stone wearing clothes, but rather that her outfit is similar to the one that Gwen Stacy wore when she died. It also seems as if she's standing on a bridge, so that just about seals it. Gwen Stacy is going to tantalizingly die in a grim fashion. My apologies to io9, CraveOnline and ScreenCrush for accusing them of misogyny.
