Tuesday night is shaping up to be a major battleground between networks. Responding to ABC's decision to air Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (I'm already getting sick of typing that out) against ratings juggernaut NCIS, CBS's head of programming Kelly Kahl seem unconcerned. Reacting to ABC's retooled Tuesday nights, Kahl replied that "As you know, that almost always works," referring to ABC's repeated failed attempts to find a scheduling bloc that can compete against NCIS.
Les Moonves, CBS's CEO also took a jab at ABC, noting despite ABC's bluster, the channel will still wind up fourth in the ratings next year.
It'll be interesting to see if Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (aka geek crack) will be able to hold up against NCIS (aka old people's crack). We'll be sure to report more on ratings in the fall.
