Deadline is reporting that Glenn Close, yes that Glenn Close, will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy in a major supporting role. Those are words I never thought I'd be writing. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't love Glenn Close, or think she's not the shit...but never would have I thought she'd be starring in a movie which features an anthropomorphic gun-wielding raccoon as a main character.
No, she's not playing Gamora. Instead, the Damages actress will be playing the head of the Nova Corps, which is being set up in the Guardians movie and will have an interconnective role similar to Samuel Jackson's Nick Fury in the movies leading up to the Avengers. If Guardians is a success, we'll presumably see her in future space set movies, which could include Nova, Warlock...or something else space related.
So, I think we'll just end the story here. Honestly, there's nothing I could say to make things any more absurd.
