We've whined and moaned about how DC is upping the prices on September's Villain's Month comics, mostly due to the fact that we don't like paying for shit gimmicks, especially those that the company can't make money on either. Well, DC offered us a solution today when they exclusively revealed to
DC's puppetsite CBR that they'd be releasing an omnibus collecting all 52 titles for the event.
Here's the interesting part. Provided that DC holds the line at $150 (which was how much they charged for the New 52 Omnibus and the New 52 Zero Month Omnibus), you'd actually be saving a lot of money if you went the omnibus route. If you buy all 52 Villain's Month comics at cover price, you'd pay $207.48 before tax. If you bought the omnibus, you'd save $57.48, for a 28% savings. Plus, for every omnibus DC sells, they should actually turn a profit, something they can't claim on the regular 3D covers.
So, if you 1) don't want to pay for 3D covers, 2) want to actually see mega-corporation WB make a few dollars on this gimmick, 3) want to save money and 4) actually want to buy all the Villain's Months comics, you should totally look into pre-ordering the omnibus, which will hit stores December 17th.
Our friends at Nix Comics are sponsoring The Outhouse this week. Show them you appreciate it by checking out their comics. One dollar from every Nix Comics sold this month will go to Kirby-4-Heroes.
