To those fearing Col. Schrader lived on in the new script, you may breath a somewhat sigh of  relief. In an interview with Screen Rant, William Fichtner talked about the character he's playing in TMNT (2014).

“I actually play a guy named Eric Sachs [Sounds like Sachs? Hard to understand] in the movie. And then he goes through a few stages in his existence.”

Then Fichtner switches on talking about the character and more about the movie's production.

“But Turtles is coming together very, very cool. There is a whole interesting dynamic that happens in the world of Turtles and all I can really say about it at this point while working on it is that the Turtle film, it’s not like anything that I remember about the Turtles before. I feel like this Michael Bay-produced movie is just gonna really be something else. I’m pretty excited.”

Fichtner then continues to dodge the million dollar question of playing the Shredder. Has the iron cold grip of Michael Bay gotten to Fichtner?  Maybe.  Though one thing appears to be certain the "Col. Schreader" character has been dropped. It doesn't change the fact that there have been people on set who are obviously Foot Soldiers, and do not have anything ninja about them.

The site also asked if he's playing a character who's Japanese, Fichtner had this to say:

“You know, uh, you know I think it would be much more exciting to find out these things as it unfolds.”

Which is true, some things would be more exciting to find out as they unfold. Unfortunately, every bit of information that's come out of Michael Bay's TMNT has been a nightmare and made fans of the property quake with fear of what the Hollywood god of explosions will do to obliterate the classic 80s cartoon/Mirage comic.

If there's one thing that is any certainy, is this reporter will take one for the team and publish a video review after seeing the film.
