Ubisoft Sets Sail for SDCC

Last year Ubisoft had one of the larger video game setups for SDCC with Assassin's Creed and the trend continues this year.

Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman Legends, and South Park: The Stick of Truth will all get a floor presence at SDCC, and all but Rayman will be featured in Panels.

The most interesting thing they are doing for comic-con however, will be outside the convention center and open to the public -- Black Flag's pirate ship, the Jackdaw, will be docked at the 5th Avenue Landing behind SDCC.  July 19th and 20th, the ship is open from 10AM to 7PM, with Todd McFarlane on-board on the 19th from 4-7PM and the 20th from 1030AM-130PM signing his exclusive Assassin's Creed IV poster and showing off the new McFarlane AC Toys.

Visitors can also get hold of inflatable cutlass swords, art booklets from Titan, win prizes, check out a live weapon demo from weapon historian Mike Loades, and get to experience a single player demo and get hands-on time with the mutliplayer and Game Lab.

The panel line-up kicks off on Thursday with Matt Stone and Trey Parker, hosting a panel on South Park: The Stick of Truth.  On Friday it continues with Assassin's Creed (2-3PM, room 6BCF) and will feature a live demo and Q&A.  Comic creators Brenden Fletcher and Todd McFarlane will be on the panel as well.  Later that day (5-6PM, room 23ABC) Ubisoft will go in depth with a look at Splinter Cell Blacklist and offer up details on the companion comic being produced.   Watch Dogs will get a panel on the 20th (6-7PM, room 23ABC) hosted by Aisha Tyler (who will also appear in the game as an NPC) they will go in-depth on the game characters abilities and how realistic they are and unveil exclusive footage of the game.

Even if you can't get into SDCC, there is still plenty to do around the convention.  Remember to check out the Jackdaw pirate ship and visit the off-site XBox Gaming Lounge at Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel (1 Market Place) and Nintendo Gaming Lounge at Marriott Marquis and Marina (333 W Harbor Drive).
