Bleeding Cool revealed last September that Andrew Hope, a British writer with a brief career in comics, is returning to the industry with a new project at Marvel. While nothing ever seemed to come out of the news, Padraig O Mealoid, a writer for the Beat, scoured Hope's social media accounts and has laid out a pretty convincing case that Hope will be writing the soon to be announced Marvelman project for Marvel.
Mealoid's strongest piece of evidence is the below facebook post, made by Hope last week.
First interview request for my top secret, miraculous Marvel project, from Comicbookresources, even. Not sure how much I want to actually say … but I suppose I can reveal here and now that my series features a character with a cult following, made famous by an extremely famous and successful British writer a number of years ago. How vague is that?
While it's largely speculative, The Beat seems pretty convinced that this time Marvelman is actually happening. It seems the Marvelman speculation has been going on for years, ever since Marvel announced that they had (sort of) bought the rights to the popular British comic book character. And several SDCCs have come and gone without Marvel having anything to say about the project, other than to vaguely mention that something's in the work. So, while this year could be the year, we said that last year. On the other hand, Marvel has a tendency to drop the mic at SDCC, so this could be this year's big announcement from the company. I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Sorry, Pádraig. You’re wrong.
