The card battle game will tie in with the comic crossover.

Marvel will be releasing a new mobile game that ties in with the upcoming X-Men: Battle of the Atom crossover event. According to USA Today, the game will allow you to collect cards featuring heroes such as Cyclops, Storm and Iceman and pit them against villains such as Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse. The game will allow you to play through the X-Men's history with new events added regularly to the game. It will also feature new and obscure characters that will probably somehow tie into the upcoming crossover.
While Marvel: War of Heroes, another mobile card game, was pretty boring and impossible to understand, Avengers Alliance, a Facebook app later converted into a mobile app, was wildly popular and continues to update nearly a year after release.
Marvel also released a trailer for the game, featuring time travel expert Wolverine doing what he does best: promoting mobile games while painting fallen rival Cyclops as a villain.
