Beginning with a series called Shadows of Endor, Dark Horse aims to devalue the franchise as much as possible before handing it over to Disney.
When Disney purchased Lucasfilm and the rights to the Star Wars franchise last year, Dark Horse Comics Editor in Chief Scott Allie knew that it was only a matter of time before the international conglomerate pulls the Star Wars comic book rights away from Dark Horse, who have been producing them since the 1990s, and gives it to Marvel, a subsidiary of Disney. And so, on that day, Allie began plotting to tank the franchise before handing it over. At San Diego Comic Con today, Allie's plans have finally been revealed: an Ewoks comic written by Zack Giallongo.
At Dark Horse's "Fuck Those Disney Guys. No Seriously, Fuck Them. Fucking Assholes." panel at San Diego Comic Con today, the publisher revealed the trailer for the book, which you can view below:
Sadly, while we're rooting for them to succeed, it's likely that Dark Horse's plans will backfire, as their Star Wars comics have been consistently top notch entertainment no matter how ridiculous the premise. We'll keep you updated.
