Fans all over the world eagerly tuned into a live special broadcast on a British television network this morning (or afternoon, depending on where you live) as the network finally put an end to speculation on which actor would take over the role of an iconic, time-traveling hero on a popular and long-running television series. The chosen actor, who has starred in several other well-known television shows and won awards for both acting and directing, was the clear favorite in the race. Nevertheless, fans were delighted to learn the name of the actor, who will debut on the show's Christmas special later this year.
"I wasn't sure what time 19:00 BST was in American time, so I just kept checking Google News," said one fan who has ben a fan of the show for over thirty years, and told us that he hoped the new actor could live up to the legacies as some of his favorites, such as the fourth and tenth to portray the character.
"I'm really looking forward to the debut and the tenure of this actor," he elaborated. "I'm hoping that classic aspects from the show's history will be used in the coming seasons, and that some new concepts and characters will be introduced as well."
The Outhouse would like to congratulate this fine actor for snagging such an important role on such an iconic show.
